ISLAMABAD: In a historic gesture of peace, Pakistan  handed over Indian pilot Abhinandan Varthaman to Indian authorities at Wagah border, on Friday.Pakistan Rangers officials accompanied Wing Commander Abhinandan as he was returned to Indian authorities amid tight security. Pakistan's goodwill gesture of promoting peace and taking an anti-war stance has been appreciated by people from far and wide, including notable personalities from the international community who have lauded Prime Minister Imran Khan and his government's decision to return Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman. Pakistan on Wednesday shot down two Indian fighter jets that had violated the country's airspace, taking pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman into custody. In an unprecedented gesture of peace, Pakistan handed over the captured pilot to India on Friday.
