Bilawal shares his grandfather's historic speech urging for Pak-India peace
Chairman Pakistan Peoples’ Party Bilawal Bhutto has shared a speech of former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto making a strong case for peace between Pakistan and India.Amid heightened tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations calls for de-escalating the situation have been made not only in the country but from the world community as well. The ex-PM can be seen stressing upon the need of a peaceful region necessary for a better tomorrow.Zulfiqar Bhutto said: “My people and the Indian people are far too poor to keep on fighting every 5-10 yrs. It's in mutual interest of two countries that we do not get intoxicated by momentarily gains & think of tomorrow.”“Because tomorrow is bound to come, a sub-continent that has a civilization of 5000 years must think in broad terms, it must think in terms of coexisting, not in terms of victor & vanquished," he further said.Despite Indian war mongering ahead of general elections later this year, Pakistan has acted maturely. The announcement by Prime Minister Imran Khan to release the Indian pilot as peace gesture has been hailed globally.
