KARACHI: A continuation to the anti-encroachment drive was ordered by the Supreme Court on Tuesday, revealed a report by Geo.tv.The report revealed that a case regarding illegal encroachments in the metropolis was being heard at the Supreme Court’s Karachi registry by a three-member bench consisting of Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Umar Ata. Amidst the hearing it was told to the court by the advocate general Sindh that assistance from specialists was sought during a conference held earlier this year, to revive the city and bring it back to its original shape. The advocate further appealed for an extension in the time slot for planning and action to be implemented without any dire consequences. “Restaurants and small businesses have sprung up on small plots. There is no place to walk in the streets. It is the SBCS’s job to ensure to restore the city to its original state but it has failed to do so,” observed Justice Musheer Alam.Subsequent to that, the chief secretary Sindh was appointed by the court to oversee the operations after directing a continuance of the anti-encroachment drive in the city.
