Trump says Pakistan-India standoff 'very dangerous'

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump Friday   voiced alarm at the "very dangerous situation" between India and Pakistan, following the Pulwama attack.Trump, speaking at a White House event on trade negotiations with China, said: "It's very dangerous situation between the two countries," adding that US wants both the countries to defuse tensions.  On Friday, Pakistan Army warned India against any "misadventure," saying it was capable of responding.The US has developed a "much better" relationship recently with Pakistan and added that Washington  may set up some meetings with Islamabad.US President noted that relations have improved over the "last short period of time" and added that the United States may set up some meetings with Pakistan.US envoys say Pakistan has an important role to play in Afghan peace talks. Taliban representatives are due to meet US special peace envoy Zalmay Khalilzad in Qatar on Feb 25.
